Business Area

  1. Develop new environmental/industrial microorganism resources
    • - Isolate, identify, and store bacteria from diverse environments
    • - Acquire useful genes for pollutant removal
  2. Analyze characteristics and removability of the isolated bacteria
    • - Study about Biochemical and morphological characteristics of isolates
      - Screen Removability for environmental pollutants
  3. Conserve Strains and construction of database System
    • - Keep isolates with its own characteristics with convenience
    • - Informing the stored strains and characteristics
  4. Build and operate the strain distributing system
    • - Establish the system to provide strain and its genetic information
  5. Propel link between domestic and foreign organizations for resources and information exchange

Expected Effect

  • Provide basic research materials for research on domestic environmental/industrial microorganisms and their genes and process development to increase academic and industrial usability.
  • Provide basic research materials for research on domestic environmental/industrial microorganisms and their genes and process development to increase academic and industrial usability.
  • Contribute to basic research in life sciences and its applied research such as photosynthesis, nitrogen fixation, and the genetic mechanism by supporting photosynthetic bacteria with diverse physiological characteristics
  • Offer basis for the eco-friendly and effective biological treatment system to restore destroyed ecosystems due to industrialization and urbanization
  • Able to restore ecosystem more effectively by developing the biological treatment system, instead of relying on foreign technology and microbial inoculant.
